Dr. Mandy Britt
DVM

Veterinarian

Hi, my name is Dr. Mandy Britt! I'm an associate veterinarian here at Crazy Mountain Veterinary Service. I earned a B.S. in Biology at Winthrop University in South Carolina on a basketball scholarship and then continued my education at Virginia Tech earning my DVM in 2003.

What was your first job like after graduating?

My first job was in North Dakota. I stayed there for a couple of years. I always say that's where I became a real veterinarian. Before then, I was just somebody with a bunch of knowledge. But that's the job where I learned how to use it.

I moved back home to Virginia and practiced in Virginia at two different practices for about 12 years. And then I moved here to Montana eight years ago and started working with Crazy Mountain Veterinary Service!

Why did you choose the veterinary profession?

I chose this profession because I feel like it is a good mix of being able to serve people, being able to be involved in agriculture, and being able to use my knowledge that I've gained over the years. I love to solve problems and I love to help people solve problems, and I think this job allows me to do that. And it involves animals and being involved in the ranching community.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is when someone comes in with a problem. Either it could be a ranching issue or even a small animal case, and I get to figure it out and help them solve that problem in a way that helps the animal and helps the person. That's my favorite thing to be able to do.

I really enjoy delivering babies of any kind. Puppies, kittens, lambs, calves, you name it. I like to deliver them!

What are your personal interests or hobbies?

I enjoy backpacking and am starting to try to learn how to fly fish.

What do you like most about working at Crazy Mountain Veterinary Service?

I think my favorite thing about working at Crazy Mountain Veterinary Service is how I get to be involved in the ranching community here. The community here is awesome and I enjoy being a small part of it and enjoy being able to serve the ranchers and the pet owners in this area. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve Harlowton, White Sulphur Springs, Martinsdale Colony, and all the other communities nearby!
